I made a holiday “tool box” a few years ago with command hooks, tape, floral wire, pliers and AA batteries (the things I kept reaching for when putting up our decorations) now I store it with my decorations.

Giftster is a great website for making lists with links to share with family and friends……its like a Wedding Planner gift guide. I love it. I also have an ongoing gift list for people throughout the year……I listen to things friends and family say or observe what they spend their time doing and add ideas as I go. It becomes incredibly helpful (and is thoughtful) when Christmas (or their birthday) comes around

I love your idea of ordering cards early – I feel like friends of mine wait to take family photos, wait to pick out a card, wait to send, and it’s a stressor instead of a feel-good holiday fun thing to do. And if it’s too much, then send it electronically and save the paper.
